Engineers Ireland offers complimentary elearning modules to members
09 February 2015
Engineers Ireland is offering each of its members complimentary access to 10 high quality elearning modules, as part of the introduction of mandatory CPD from 2017.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the term used to describe lifelong learning or continuing education as it relates to active professionals. In a rapidly changing environment CPD is the mechanism to ensure that professionals are up to date in their field. For the individual, in today’s competitive and changing world, CPD is essential for continued employment and advancement. For the organisation, CPD is central to business sustainability, diversification and growth.
At Engineers Ireland, a key aspect of its current strategy is its commitment to support its members in ensuring their competence is current and of the highest standard given the accelerated pace of change in everything from materials to legislation.
Mandatory CPD will be introduced for Engineers Ireland members from 2017. In order for members to support their CPD requirements, in addition to its current CPD offerings, Engineers Ireland is now offering each of its members 10 high quality complimentary elearning modules.
This provides 24/7 access to verifiable elearning no matter where you are based and each of the modules can support the development of competences required for the attainment of professional titles. One fully completed module amounts to four CPD hours, so these courses can form a significant part of any engineer’s annual CPD plan.
