Third edition of Bridge Beam Technical Manual now available
22 May 2014
The third edition of the Bridge Beam Technical Manual was launched at Infrarail 2014, the tenth International Railway Infrastructure Exhibition that took place in London this week (20-22 May).
Bridge Beam Technical Manual has been a useful source of information for all involved in the design and construction of bridge beams. The continuing development of the Manual provides a comprehensive design tool and demonstrates the organisation’s technological expertise and solutions-based approach to bridge construction.
The third edition features Shay Murtagh Precast’s online library using building information modeling (BIM). The Span Tables for ‘TY’, ‘TYE’, ‘Y’ and ‘YE’ beams have been updated following a more rigorous series of design estimates. Details relating to strand layouts and cross-sectional dimensions have also been enhanced for the same beam types.
The designers’ checklist, which has been a popular feature of the two previous editions, is revised and expanded in the third.
Registering online allows for access to this invaluable information. The new manual is linked to the company’s website and contains a comprehensive BIM library of rivet objects by beam type. The site is interactive and will be updated regularly.
Both the manual and BIM library are backed up by a technical support team.
